Women in Leadership Women in LeadershipCristina DeSilvio
Career Development Coordinator, McMaster Experiential Education Initiative

Cristina DeSilvio initiated her leadership endeavors in high school through her organization of a clothing drive, which led to her receiving the Max Rotman Youth Humanitarian Award. DeSilvio’s commitment to compassionate leadership roles have been expressed through previous roles in educating youth with special needs, and coordinating programs to benefit disadvantaged children. DeSilvio currently works with students and student leaders in the Faculty of Social Sciences, Experiential Education Initiative. Of all her leadership experiences, DeSilvio is most impacted by seeing her efforts resulting in a positive learning experience for students. Working closely with student leaders at McMaster gives her opportunity to realize how one can truly make a difference in their community. Above all, DeSilvio feels that to be a great leader, one must be motivated as both as an individual, and as part of a team to create positive change.
