Introduction

Polycythemia vera (PV) is a rare hematological malignancy, and one of the chronic myeloproliferative disorder. Its clinical course is very slow.1) It is also known that finally many proportions of the patients will develop acute leukemia. Other causes of morbidity are thrombotic or hemorrhagic phenomena.2) But the occlusion in renal artery is not common. Here we reported the first case of acute renal failure due to the occlusion of renal artery in a patient with PV.
