Drug Utilization Study in Bronchial Asthma Treatment

Contact Person: Miriam Cires (cdf@infomed.sld.cu)

Discussion and Conclusion

  • Inhaled b 2 agonists were the most frequently recommended drugs for symptomatic treatment
  • H1 antihistamines were frequently used as prophylactic treatment
  • Inhaled anti-inflamatories (corticoids or sodium cromoglicate) are poorly used in long term treatment of asthmatic patients.
  • In clinical records the pharmacological treatment was seldom assessed.
