Invited Symposium: Neural Bases of Hypnosis
The aim of this presentation is to orient symposium attendees to the varied content of the papers in the symposium. I will first introduce the topic of hypnosis and the diverse methodologies currently being used for exploring its neural bases. Then I will draw attention to overarching themes in the papers, characterize our present state of knowledge of the brain mechanisms that may underlie hypnosis, and discuss where future research may be headed.
