MATERIALS and METHODS

Ten Phaseolus vulgaris beans, Lin black Valentine variety, were settled in isolated plates embedded with trial solutions inside closed glass recipients. The recipients were put into a wooden box with wooden divisions inside. They were kept at room temperature (25º C), exposed to natural light and daily during 1 hour, to sunlight. Each experiment lasted 5 days, and 7 blind trials were made overall.

Purified water was the control solution, as well as the vehicle for dynamized solutions D24, D25 and D26 Argentum Nitricum. The solutions were obtained by grinding with lactose, by Dr Willmar Schwabe’s technique, with silver nitrate 99.5% pure from Merck Lab and pharmacopoeia quality lactose (USP, BP). Besides, control dynamized solutions D24, D25 and D26 were prepared grinding lactose with the same technique, but without silver nitrate.

Phase scale to determine germination periods

Phase 0: intact bean

Phase I: broken shell

Phase II: bean germination

Phase III: plantlet with evident differences between root and stem.

Phase IV: adult plant size under 100 mm.

Phase V: adult plant size over 100 mm.

In case of plant growth the size of stems at fifth day were taken in account.

Results were statistically analyzed by Chi Square test for germination, comparing beans which achieved the phase V at fifth day and those which didn’t achieved it. Contingency tables were used 2 x 2 (I fd) confidence interval 95%.

In case of development were analyzed by Student’s t test for the calculation of the means of stems sizes, as it was a small sample (n=30), confidence level 95%

Results are shown in tables : S when significative, NS not significative.
