LOCATION:

McMaster University Mail Services is located in the Michael G. DeGroote School of Business Building (MGD), room B109.
HOURS OF OPERATION:
7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The wicket is open to the campus community from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.
INCOMING MAIL:

Mail Services processes all incoming mail from the Canada Post Corporation. Mail is delivered daily to each department commencing at 8:30 a.m..

To ensure timely delivery, all items must have the following information:

All outgoing mail is charged to the departmental account unless otherwise noted on the mail.

Canada Post Corporation's new requirement for addressing is that all addresses be in capital letters without punctuation (unless it is part of a word in the address, e.g. SMITH'S BICYCLES). The postal code should be placed on the same line as the city and province.

* Mail for Laurentian, Lakehead and Nipissing is amalgamated at York University then forwarded by courier. There is therefore a restriction placed on this mail of 30 grams per item ( this is usually the maximum weight placed in a #10 envelope ). All mail larger than a regular envelope will be sent via Canada Post and the sender charged postage.

ADDRESSING AND INSERTING:
Mail Services provides an addressing service for general mailings to the McMaster community. Labelling equipment will affix labels to envelopes, magazines and flyers for any on- or off- campus mailing. Mailing lists can be set up using data bases in Mail Services. A folding service is also available as part of the Addressing operation. The University inserting equipment will insert up to 4 items into envelopes. Maximum size of envelopes is #10. For more information call extension 24286.
