State of the Academy
The Provost and Vice-President (Academic) is the chief academic officer of the University. Reporting to the President, the Provost leads academic, strategic and financial planning.
The Provost and Vice-President (Academic) provides vision and leadership for all of McMaster’s academic activities including faculty recruitment, retention and promotion; attracting and retaining excellent students; enrolment management; graduate and undergraduate program development and assessment; student life; academic budget and space allocation; and strategic planning.
The Deans of Faculties, Associate Vice Presidents of Academic, Graduate Studies, Planning and Analysis and Student Affairs, the University Librarian, the University Registrar, the Director of Human Rights and Equity Services, the Director of the Museum of Art and the CIO report to the Provost.
