Regional uptake behaviors of radioactive Rb, Zn, Se, Mn, Sc and Zr tracers in brain of young and aged C57BL/6N mice

Results

Table 1 summarizes 6 radioisotopes, their half-lives, their principal gamma-ray energy, and their estimated chemical species used in this work.

In this work, the multitracer solution enables simultaneous tracing of 6 trace elements (Rb, Zn, Se, Mn, Sc and Zr) in the identical regions and a strict comparison of their biobehavior. At 48 h after i.p. injection, the regional uptake rates of Rb, Zn, Se, Mn, Sc and Zr tracers are shown in Fig.2 . The uptake rate of Rb, Zn and Se in aged mice were found to be higher than those of young mice, and not large difference among all regions. However, the uptake rates of Mn, Sc and Zr tracers in aged mice have fairly large difference and substantially higher values.
