Abstract

Regional cerebral uptake behaviors of radioactive 46Sc, 48V, 54Mn, 58Co, 65Zn, 75Se, 83Rb and 88Zr tracer tracers were determined in normal young and aged C57BL/6N mice, by using a multitracer which was prepared from an Ag target irradiated with heavy ion beams in RIKEN Ring Cyclotron. Comparative regional behaviors of the Sc, Mn, Co, Zn, Se, Rb, and Zr tracers were examined among 7 regions(corpus striatum, cerebellum, cerebral cortex, hippocampus, midbrain, olfactory, and pons and medulla) and blood, and evaluated in terms of 'regional uptake rate (the percentage of injected dose per gram of region, %dose/g of region)'. As a result, at 48 h after multitracer injection, the regional uptake rates of all tracers, except 88Zr, in all aged mice were found to be slightly higher than those of young mice. However, the regional uptake rates of Zr tracer in aged mice were substantially higher than those in young mice.
