Roger Couldrey, Vice-President (Administration)

Reporting directly to the President and Vice-Chancellor as the Vice-President (Administration), Roger Couldrey oversees the University’s administrative and support services. He ensures that all financial, physical, systems and human resources are effectively utilized and he works closely with members of the McMaster community to address challenges and opportunities facing the University.

Prior to taking the role of Vice-President (Administration), Roger served for ten years on the Board of Governors, and seven years as Chair of the Finance and Audit Committees, providing strategic input to the acquisition of McMaster Innovation Park.

Roger was the Chief Operating Officer of CommunityLend Inc., a new Canadian venture in peer-to-peer lending. He has proven leadership experience as former President and CEO of ePost, the world’s first electronic post office, and from an extensive career with Bank of Montreal, where he held a number of senior executive positions for many years. Roger also spent three years locally with Orlick Industries.

Roger has a long history of active community involvement, having been Chair of the United Way, President of the Art Gallery of Hamilton, and Vice-Chair of the Royal Botanical Gardens among others. Roger was involved in the renovation of the Art Gallery of Hamilton and the expansion of St. Joseph’s Hospital. He is married to Ruth, and has three adult children.
