Portal Project

Welcome to the McMaster Student Portal Project.

"There are things known and there are things unknown, and in between are the doors"

- Jim Morrison

Introduction
A portal is a gateway that provides a single point of entry to information and tools. The best portals are personalized and customized to an individual's needs. A great portal empowers an individual to make choices. It also enhances experiences by enabling access anytime, anywhere.

Purpose Statement
”To create Canada’s ultimate student community and experience by moving students online instead of in-line, and giving access to a wealth of personalized information and services.”

McMaster Portal Project
The Portal Project is funded Refining Directions, the McMaster Student Union and the Technology fund, and sponsored by the AVP Student Affairs and the Registrar with development managed by the UTS Project Management Office.

The creation of a student portal is one of the key projects identified in the University Technology Strategy. A student portal also addresses several goals and critical success factors identified in Refining Directions.

This site is used to provide information on the Student Portal and its progress.
