Glaucoma: Diagnosis and Therapy

Symposium 244

Dr. Budde: Great presentation.  Hope you have fun at the meeting. You indicate that parapapillary atrophy with possible leakage of vasoactive substances from the choriocapillaris into the retina has been discussed to be important for the development of glaucomatous optic nerve fiber loss in eyes with normal intraocular pressure.  It is not clear to me whether this suggests that the leakage of vasoactive substances the etiology of this atrophy or a consequence.
