Abstract

Axia NetMedia Corporation and the Lawson Research Institute, of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Western Ontario, are developing a series of 'hybrid' media learning programs for physicians with an interest in urology. Two such programs, which focus on urinary tract infection and surgical management of urolithiasis, have been developed. Other topics, including erectile dysfunction, prostate disorders, bladder cancer and incontinence, are currently being developed.

Each program consists of CD-ROM, Internet and conventional media components integrated through application of sound principles of curriculum and learning design. Taken together, these three components offer the global urology community an opportunity to continue learning in a manner consistent with its need for cutting edge information and academic rigor.
