MAC ID Services

Your MAC ID is used to access the following computing services at McMaster:

McMaster StudentMail

Every McMaster student is eligible for a McMaster e-mail account. The e-mail account is not given to you automatically; you must enable this service.

Log into Mosaic with your MAC ID and click "Manage your Email Service". Follow the instructions. You will be able to log into the email account within 1 hour. At that time you will be able to send email however you will have to wait until after 8 a.m. on the morning following to be able to receive to the account.

Undergrad and Graduate Students:

  1. To get to your inbox go to and log in with your MAC ID and password (make sure you’ve completed Enable your MAC ID Services )
  2. E-mail quota is 25 GB maximum.
  3. Your e-mail account will expire on Jamuary 31st of the following academic year.

Avenue to Learn

Avenue to Learn is a web application that lets you access information such as posted assignments, notes, quizzes or solutions to tests or exams, provided by your professors. For more information, visit the Avenue homepage at:

Printing and Scanning Services

UTS Student Computer Labs are now a part of the campus-wide printing initiative Equitrac.

Printing services are available in all of the Student Computer Labs through the campus wide printing initiative PrintSmart. A PrinstSmart printer has been placed in KTH B111, BSB 242 and JHE 234 for your convenience. More information regarding the PrintSmart program can be found at their website:

UTS Student Computer Labs provide scanning services free charge. Scanned items are sent to your email address. For more information on scanning prcedures, please visit the labs and ask the student consultant on duty.
