Microsoft Office 365 for Students

Microsoft Office 365 is free for all Undergraduate and Graduate Students currently enrolled at McMaster, including all affiliate campuses (Conestoga-McMaster and Mohawk-McMaster)..

Office 365 is Microsoft's group of productivity and collaboration tools which includes Office applications, OneDrive storage, & more. The Office applications can be used from any web browser or downloaded and installed on up to 5 devices (Windows or Mac), as well as mobile applications on iOS, Android, and Windows Mobile.

How to Sign In
  1. Step 1: Find your MacID and password.
  2. Step 2: When you sign in, enter your MacID followed by "@mcmaster.ca" into the top field. For example, if your MacID were "smithj," you would enter "smithj@mcmaster.ca".
  3. Step 3: Enter your password into the lower field.

  2. Available to all full-time, part-time, CCE, and graduate students
  3. Students can access the Office 365 software at https://portal.office.com
  4. Desktop applications include: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, & OneNote. Windows desktop installations also include Publisher & Access.
  5. Additional software also included outside of Office: Teams, , Planner, and more

Accessibility in Office 365

Office 365 works with screen readers, speech recognition tools, and keyboard shortcuts. When using the Office 365 portal or any of the Office Online applications, you can also use the accessibility features built in to your web browser. Outlook Online/Email Not Included

Outlook Online is not available and all students should continue to use the email service powered by Google. Click here for more information about Student Email.

McMaster is pleased to provide Office 365 and additional Microsoft products to students; however, the University does not provide support on the installation or use of this software on personal devices. Students are responsible for how they use it.
