New Surveys coming soon!

Economic Development

This survey is in partnership with the City of Hamilton’s Planning & Economic Development Department and aims to learn about the past experiences as well as the current and future needs and work intentions of potential employment candidates in and around the Hamilton community. This feedback will help identify actionable opportunities for improvement to the “Hamilton Experience” based on current student and alumni experiences and preferences and will provide information that will help attract new employment opportunities and investments to Hamilton. And, we want opinions of Mac grads close by and far afoot!

  • 2/3rds of respondents are within the ages of 20 & 30 years old
  • 36 respondents reported living in the U.S.A; 26 logged in their responses from other countries including Peru, Russia, Somalia, Vietnam and Copenhagen
  • The majority of respondents live in the Greater Hamilton or Greater Toronto areas
  • More than 40% view Hamilton’s employment prospects as “Good or Excellent”; 46% as “Average or Fair” and 7.8% view them as “Poor”
  • One of the most popular words used to describe Hamilton is “Growing”
  • Just over half of respondents would be willing to take a cut in wages (max 20%) if they could find work and live in Hamilton while a third were unwilling to any cut

Is McMaster Age-Friendly?

(MIRA) is collecting information related to the current status of these principles at McMaster in order to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement. You are invited to complete a brief 10-question survey regarding your perceptions of McMaster as an age-friendly university. If you are not specifically associated with a specific department or area, please consider your experiences with the University as a whole.

Social Media

Ten years ago, the main communication tools for keeping alumni engaged with Mac was printed or electronic mail. Things have certainly changed. Our hope is that you provide some insights into your current social/digital usage and preferences to help guide our current social/digital media content and frequency.
