McMaster moves up in international ranking of Top 100 universities
McMaster University has moved up in its position among the world’s Top 100 universities: It’s now 88, up from 91 last year.
The Academic Ranking of World Universities (previously compiled by Shanghai Jiao Tong University) ranks more than 1,200 higher-educational institutions uses such factors as number of Nobel prizes or Field Medals won, number of highly cited researchers, the number of articles published in key international journals, and the per capita academic performance of an institution. The rankings have been conducted since 2003.
Only three other Canadian universities are listed in the Top 100 along with McMaster: University of Toronto, McGill University, and the University of British Columbia.
