Experts available to discuss unprecedented period in Canadian politics

As the Canadian government faces more turmoil and the opposition parties form an unprecedented coalition government, McMaster University has a number of experts who can discuss the wide ranging implications should the federal government fall.

 

Peter Graefe, assistant professor of political science, is an expert on federal politics and can provide commentary on how this coalition came about, what may lie ahead this week as the government enters unchartered territory, and what Stephen Harper could do next. Wilson Professor in Canadian History, can relate the coalition scandal of 1926 when Governor-General Byng refused William Lyon Mackenzie King’s request to dissolve Parliament and hand the government’s reins to the Conservatives.
