Release of the 1994 National Population Health Survey (NPHS) Microdata File - The microdata file for the core questions on the 1994 NPHS is available free to all universities with a membership in the recently implemented Data Liberation Initiative (DLI). Since all the Health Promotion Research Centres are affiliated with member universities, you can access this file through your university library. If your library does not already have a copy, it can be ordered from Lynda Richardson, Liaison Officer, Data Liberation Initiative, Statistics Canada, 9-M.R.H. Coats Bldg., Ottawa ON K1A 0T6 tel 613-951-5904, E-mail richlyn@statcan.ca.

Since this is a new way of distributing Statistics Canada databases, there may still be some procedural bugs to work through. If you have any problems accessing the database, contact Alan Gordon, Program & Policy Analysis Division, Research & Program Policy Directorate, Health Canada, 4th floor, Jeanne Mance Bldg., Ottawa ON K1A 1B4 (tel:613-954-8838, E-mail: Allan_Gordon@isdtcvp3.hwc.ca).
