Preparing faculty members for McMaster's new finance system

1) The system replaces many of the paper forms faculty members have traditionally signed, such as purchase requisitions or travel and expense claims, will be replaced with an electronic workflow system. Beginning next week, faculty members will receive emails advising them when they have an approval request to review.

2) This new system includes travel and expense claims functionality, replacing the current system.

3) Principal investigators will be able to review their research account balances online. Balances will reflect transactions to the close of the previous day.

4) Next week, the system will be available at . Users will log-in using their MAC ID and password.

Orientation to the new system is available both online and in class. Refer to the Mosaic Learning Hub. Two online courses PeopleSoft Basic Navigation and Workflow, Approvals and Delegation provide an introduction to basic PeopleSoft functionality and are the recommended minimum orientation. A third, Expense Reports, Cash Advances and Travel Authorization is recommended for those who travel on business.

In order to access the both the Learning Hub and the PeopleSoft system, even just as an approver, you will need to know both your MAC ID and password.

Further information about this project is available in an executive summary for faculty members.
