Dr. Gilissen: Hope you are enjoying the meeting. Great poster.What do you think is the source of the increased non-heme iron deposits - breakdown products of heme iron, ferritin bound iron or increased transport of iron into these areas?
>Dr. Grover: the main source of contrast in MRI is usually ferritin bound iron (in humans, at least). Other methods are now required to work at the cellular level, but at least it is possible to work in vivo when using MRI.
