Vice-President (Administration)
Responsibilities
Responsible for the planning, development and application of the University’s administrative and support services, the Vice-President (Administration) reports directly to the President & Vice-Chancellor and is the University’s chief financial and administrative officer. The Vice-President (Administration) ensures that all financial, physical, and human resources are effectively utilized and works closely with members of the McMaster community to address challenges and opportunities facing the University.
The following positions report directly to the Vice-President (Administration):
- Assistant Vice-President (Administration) and Chief Financial Officer
Financial Services, Purchasing Services and Treasury Operations report through the Assistant Vice-President (Administration) - Assistant Vice-President (Facility Services)
- Associate Vice-President and Chief Human Resources Officer
Environmental and Occupational Health Support Services as well as Security and Parking Services and Grounds report through the Chief Human Resources Officer. - Chief Information Officer
University Technology Services and Telecommunications report through the Chief Information Officer. The Chief Information Officer reports jointly to the Vice-President (Administration), Provost & Vice-President (Academic) and Vice-President (Research). - Chief Risk Officer
The Chief Risk Officer reports to the President & Vice-Chancellor, the Chair of the Audit Committee of the Board of Governors and the Vice-President (Administration). The following areas report to the Chief Risk Officer: Internal Audit, Enterprise Risk Management, Administrative Strategies, Change Management and Sustainability.
The Vice-President (Administration), along with the other Vice-Presidents and Provost, oversees the operations of the University and is instrumental in recommending new policies.
