Academic Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist Physician

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Faculty of Health Sciences, McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario invites applications for the position of academic Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist. This full-time position is located at Hamilton Health Sciences-McMaster Site. The current complement of seven sub-specialists offers tertiary care in Maternal and Fetal Medicine for the City of Hamilton, LHINs 3 and 4 (Waterloo Wellington, Hamilton Niagara, Haldimand and Brant) covering a region of 27,000 deliveries per year.

Candidates should have completed subspecialty training in Maternal Fetal Medicine and be able to fully function as a MFM sub-specialist in maternal diseases in pregnancy, fetal conditions, prenatal diagnosis and fetal ultrasound. The successful candidate is expected to have experience in, as well as demonstrated skills in, clinical education with all levels of learners. The successful candidate will be expected to fully participate in all of the appropriate departmental and divisional administrative and educational activities. Candidates must have demonstrated capabilities in clinical research and active research involvement is highly desirable. Salary is composed of, largely, fee-for-service activities, as well as a minor stipend provided by Hamilton Health Sciences and the University to support academic and educational activities.
