Enrolment Management Team

The Enrolment Management Team (EMT) implements and oversees all enrolment policies approved by Senate and, after consulting with Faculties, Programs and other appropriate University groups, reports to the Provost on enrolment matters. The Provost, in turn, will make the Committee’s reports available to Senate and the University Planning Committee.

Responsibilities

  • Advise the Provost on all matters pertaining to domestic and international student enrolment.
  • Recommend enrolment targets to the Provost annually for new and returning students at all academic levels within the long-term enrolment plans of the University, taking into account any goals articulated in relevant planning documents.
  • Provide annual enrolment projections for a five-year period and prepare each December a report on enrolment patterns of domestic and international students for the current academic year.
  • Evaluate and recommend specific communications and other policies to facilitate the enrolment goals of the University, and in particular monitor and recommend strategic responses with respect to government funding initiatives associated with student enrolments.
  • Foster a superior living and learning environment through progressive student retention strategies that also seek continuous improvement in student success rates.
  • Survey student groups to assess the impact of various enrolment management activities, identify problems and recommend solutions that aim for the provision of high quality academic and personal growth experiences for students.
  • Recommend to the Provost strategies that should be employed in recruiting domestic and international students.

The Enrolment Management Team Executive’s responsibilities include:

    • setting the agenda for the Enrolment Management Team
    • distributing information from internal and external sources
    • advising the EMT on policy issues
    • preparing final recommendations on enrolment targets approved by EMT
    • proposing recruitment strategies and retention policies to EMT and the Provost

The Executive shall act for the Enrolment Management Team between meetings and shall report all actions to the next meeting of the EMT.
