Tenure-Track Position, Assistant Professor Level
The Department of Sociology, McMaster University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor starting July 1, 2012.The Department is seeking a sociological social psychologist with research interests in any of the areas covered within the Department. The Department specializes in three key areas, Individual and Society, Occupations and Organizations and Social Inequality. In addition, there are a number of substantive areas of interest. Candidates must have a PhD in Sociology, although applicants who expect to have all of the requirements for the PhD completed by April 1, 2012 will be considered. Candidates will be expected to establish a research program in social psychology and to compete successfully for external funding. Candidates will also be expected to teach in and contribute towards the development of the Department's new Social Psychology program.
The closing date for applications is Monday, November 21, 2011. A complete application, including a curriculum vita, a representative sample of academic writing, and three letters of reference should be sent to the address below. Candidates are also encouraged to submit their teaching dossiers and teaching evaluations.
