Contractually Limited Appointment - Assistant Professor
The School of the Arts at McMaster University invites applications for a one year contractually limited appointment, to begin July 1, 2013, in Studio Art, at the rank of Assistant Professor. The current minimum salary for an Assistant Professor is $66,243.00. The successful candidate will have a completed MFA and a proven record of effective teaching in Studio Art at the university level. The appointed candidate will be responsible for 24 units of teaching that includes:
ART 1DM3 (Dimensional Material Investigations and Concepts)ART 2SC3 (Contemporary Approaches to Sculpture)
ART 3CF3 (Concentrated Foundry)
ART 3IM3 (Integrated Media Concentration)
ART 3PD3 (New Directions in Painting/Drawing)
ART 3JO3 (Concentrated Study-Collaborative Community Projects) - offered in spring term
The successful candidate will also contribute to team-teaching of upper level students in ART 4C06 and 4E12 for three units of teaching credit in each term. A commitment to active and regular participation in administration of the Studio Art program including: shared maintenance of the sculpture studio, assisting with portfolio interviews for incoming students, assisting with arts activities or events, and assisting with interdisciplinary initiatives is a requirement of this position. The studio program at McMaster is committed to promoting a safe studio environment where environmentally responsible studio approaches are integrated into daily practice.
