Pediatric Nephrologist - Faculty Appointment

The Department of Pediatrics at McMaster University and McMaster Children’s Hospital (MCH) are seeking a full-time pediatric nephrologist to join a committed team. The successful candidate will share responsibility for education and research in pediatric nephrology as well as comprehensive clinical services, including nephrology outpatient clinics and consultation to hospital inpatients.

McMaster University is internationally recognized for innovations in medical education and pioneering biomedical, epidemiological and health systems research.  Located in Hamilton, on the edge of Lake Ontario and the picturesque Niagara escarpment, McMaster Children’s Hospital is a tertiary referral center serving a population of more than 2.3 million in south central Ontario. MCH has 150 acute care beds and a full range of specialized inpatient services.  The Pediatric Nephrology Service is comprised of the most comprehensive program for management of both acute and chronic kidney disease in southwestern Ontario. The Division has a dedicated dialysis program offering both peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis, an extensive chronic kidney disease program including pre- and post- transplant care, in addition to general nephrology clinics, antenatal consultation and Renal Stone clinic. There is a tremendous multidisciplinary team involved in the care of the nephrology patients including nurses, social worker, dietician and child life support worker.  

Applicants will be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario.  Rank and salary will be commensurate with training and experience.
