Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician

The Department of Pediatrics at McMaster University is seeking a pediatric emergency medicine physician for a clinical and academic position.

McMaster University is an internationally recognized institution known for its innovations in medical education and pioneering biomedical, epidemiological and health systems research. McMaster University is affiliated with McMaster Children’s Hospital (MCH), the pediatric regional referral centre for a population of more than 2.3 million in south central Ontario. MCH has 150 acute care beds and a full range of specialized inpatient services. The Pediatric Emergency Department at MCH currently serves approximately 30,000 patients annually and is the region’s pediatric trauma centre.

Pediatric emergency medicine physicians with outstanding clinical skills and a commitment to academic success are encouraged to apply. The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine is committed to a model of integrated academic practice, where the clinical mission of delivering high-quality care concurrently supports educational and clinical research initiatives. Current research themes in the Division include quality improvement, simulation, knowledge transfer and medical education.

Applicants should be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario.
