Academic Gastrointestinal Pathologist
Applications are invited for an Academic Pathologist position in the Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program (HRLMP), the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine, McMaster University and the Farncombe Family Digestive Health Research Institute.
This full-time joint appointment presents an excellent opportunity for an academic pathologist with expertise in gastrointestinal pathology. The successful applicant should have completed a fellowship in GI pathology and have research experience with preference given to applicants who have a PhD. The successful candidate will share clinical responsibilities with a large regional group of anatomical pathologists with expertise in all pathology subspecialties. The appointee will join an integrated group of clinical and basic scientists dedicated to understanding the causes of chronic digestive diseases in the Farncombe Family Digestive Health Research Institute (http://www.farncombe.mcmaster.ca). The successful applicant will have teaching responsibilities in undergraduate, postgraduate, and graduate programs and is expected to develop an independent research program. The successful applicant will have hospital staff appointments at Hamilton Health Sciences and St. Joseph’s Healthcare and will be presented for a faculty appointment with the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine at McMaster University. The academic rank will be determined by the qualifications of the applicant.
Applications will be considered only from applicants certified in Anatomical or General Pathology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
