Academic Family Physicians

The Department of Family Medicine is pleased to invite applications for a full time academic family physician to join the McMaster Family Health Team. Situated in Hamilton along the beautiful Niagara escarpment, the McMaster Family Health Team is comprised of two Clinical Teaching Units: McMaster Family Practice (MFP) and Stonechurch Family Health Centre (SFHC). Together, these busy practices cover the spectrum of care in family medicine and provide early exposure for learners to an interprofessional practice environment.

Academic Family Physician

The ideal candidate for the first position will be an academic Family Physician, looking to join an established family practice model which emphasizes the “team” approach to primary care. You will be supported in your clinical work by the expertise of a talented Family Health Team including nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, dietitians', pharmacists, a lactation consultant and a psychiatrist. In your educational role, you will act as a clinical supervisor, mentor and role model to residents, medical students and other learners and contribute to the overall development of the department through leadership, administration and scholarly activities.

Applicants must have CCFP certification and a license to practice medicine in the province of Ontario. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with experience.
