Tenure-Track Position in Electric Power Systems Engineering - Assistant, Associate or Professor Level
The Faculty of Engineering at McMaster University is guided by a new five-year strategic plan that is committed to advancing research for a sustainable society and developing the global engineer of the future. To this end, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is seeking an outstanding individual for a tenure track position in Electric Power Systems Engineering. The appointment is intended to be at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level.
Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline, and have expertise in the fields of: power electronics; electric motor drives; electric machines; electric power systems; “smart" grid; electric energy generation, conversion, and transmission; and renewable energy systems. Demonstrated or strong potential for excellence in research and teaching is essential. Relevant industrial experience, the ability to interact with other research groups (on and off campus), and interest in creating and maintaining ties with major industrial players within the broader energy community will be an asset.
The successful applicant will be expected to develop an effective research program and demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and curriculum development at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate is required to become registered with Professional Engineers of Ontario.
