Contractually Limited Appointment, Assistant Professor Level

The Department of Linguistics and Languages at McMaster University invites applications for a one-year Contractually Limited Appointment in Spanish, at the rank of Assistant Professor, for the period July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013. 

The main responsibility of the successful candidate will be to teach the equivalent of six half-year courses in Spanish language and culture at the undergraduate level. Applicants should have native or near native command of Spanish, and hold a PhD in Spanish. Applicants should have a strong background in Spanish instruction, demonstrated teaching ability, and be willing to participate fully in departmental research and teaching. Since the Department of Linguistics and Languages presently offers undergraduate degrees (Honours) in Linguistics and Cognitive Science of Language, and is the home of an interdisciplinary graduate program (M.Sc./Ph.D.) in the Cognitive Science of Language, a specialization in any area of theoretical or applied linguistics is highly desirable.

The current minimum salary at the rank of Assistant Professor is $66,243.00 plus benefits.
