Assistant Professor - Contractually Limited Appointment

The Department of Anthropology invites applications for a contractually-limited appointment (CLA) at the rank of Assistant Professor in Archaeology, for the period covering July 1, 2013 – June 30, 2014.   The position includes teaching undergraduate classes and some administrative responsibilities.  The successful candidate will teach six 3-unit courses listed below. Enrolment capacities are in parentheses.

Term 1

ANTH 2O03E             Themes in the Archaeological History of North America (40)
ANTH 3AS3E             Archaeology & Society (40)
ANTH 3E03               Special Topics in Archaeology II  (25)

Term 2

ANTH 2WA3              World Archaeology  (150)
ANTH 3K03               Archaeological Interpretation (25)

And plus one of the following courses:
ANTH 2C03               Archaeology of Environmental Crisis & Response (24)
ANTH 2RP3               Religion and Power in the Past (100)
ANTH 2VV3               The Maya Before Columbus (100)
ANTH 3X03               Zooarchaeology (25)
