Assistant/Associate Professor
The McMaster School of EngineeringTechnology invites applications for a Contractually Limited Appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to Chair the Civil Engineering Infrastructure Technology program. Teaching will be required in both the B.Tech. program and in sustainability-related courses in McMaster’s Engineering program. The successful applicant should have an interest in Sustainability and preferably experience in teaching Sustainability themed courses or work experience related to this topic.
The appointment will be made for a period of up to three years with the opportunity for renewal. Candidates must have at least a master’s degree and preferably a doctoral degree in Civil Engineering, along with experience in the following areas:
- Experience teaching at the university level
- Industrial experience
- Expertise in Sustainability
- Experience in infrastructure design, inspection, repair and maintenance is a definite asset
- Experience in program management to include curriculum development and redesign
- Registration as a Professional Engineer of Ontario is an essential qualification
Candidates must possess excellent communication skills and a strong commitment and demonstrated ability in classroom instruction. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2013.
