Boris Family Chair in Education and Internal Medicine
The Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University invites applications for established academics in the fields of education and internal medicine. The successful applicant will hold the Boris Family Chair in Education and Internal Medicine and lead the Boris Family Clinic, a patient-centered clinic that will provide efficient and personal care for individuals with multiple medical issues. Due to the Clinic’s linkage with McMaster’s affiliated partner Hamilton Health Sciences, the successful candidate will also hold a hospital appointment.
The successful candidate will hold an academic appointment within the Faculty of Health Sciences at a rank commensurate with their credentials and experience. The candidate will be expected to lead an academic program focusing on developing educational activities in patient-centered clinical methodologies and evaluating their efficacy, focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of multiple medical problems.
McMaster provides a collaborative research environment equipped with new, state-of-the-art infrastructure. The Boris family’s recent gift of $6 million to create the Boris Family Clinic will further enhance McMaster’s reputation for excellence in clinical care, research and education.
Applicants will have completed specialty training in internal medicine. The successful candidate will have responsibility for leading the academic outpatient practice within the Boris Family Clinic and will be an active contributor to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. The ability to lead a team and facilitate team function is essential.
Applicants should be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the province of Ontario.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must possess an MD or MD/PhD with experience in a relevant field, coupled with demonstrated excellence in teaching and mentoring. Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a summary of future plans and the names of three references by September 28, 2012 to:
