How do I Save Documents in Citrix?
Saving documents in Citrix will be done through Excel and likely when you are exporting a file from VIP. Once
the file is opened in Excel, select File and Save As.
1. The Save As box will be displayed as seen to the right.
2. If you do not see the drives listed as above, select the Save in: arrow and Select My Computer as seen below.
At this point you will be presented with a list of drives to choose from. Each department has a common drive that
has been identified. If you are not sure which drive to save to go back to your desktop, select Start and My Computer.
Look for that drive that you normally save to and compare it to the list in Citrix. The path will be the same, but the
drive letter may change. For example: "CISappl$ on OS1" is my S: drive but in Citrix the path "CISappl$ on
os2.cis.mcmaster.ca" is mapped as the P: drive. It is the path that matters, not the drive letter.
3. DO NOT SAVE TO "DESKTOP" OR "MY DOCUMENTS". These are on the Citrix Server. They are not your regular Desktop and
My Documents. You will not see your files because this is on the Citrix Server. Please do not save here. Select My
Computer and Select your common share.
You likely saved the file to the Desktop or My Documents on the server. Go back to Excel (you may have to export a "dummy" report - please select something small!) Select File and Open and Select My Documents or Desktop. Find your file and select Open. Then Select File - Save As - My Computer and Select your common share.
