Citrix Client Configuration

Citrix Client Configuration - Windows/Firefox

1. Open Mozilla Firefox browser and go to: https://macapps.mcmaster.ca

2. Type in the test ID and password you were given. Citrix will try to determine if you have the correct client installed on your computer and if you require the client it will help you with the installation.

3. You will be prompted to Download the Client Software, Select the checkbox and Click the Download button.

4. You will be prompted to save the file, select Save File.

5. From the download screen double click the XenAppWeb.msi file.

6. Select OK to run installation.

7. Select Run to run the installation.

8. The Citrix Installation window will appear. You need to wait at least 2 minutes. Just when you think it isn’t working, count to 30 and it will likely start.

9. When it starts you will see the following windows:

10. You will then be able to view the available applications. Each user will see only the applications to which they have been granted permissions. Click on the application that you wish to run.

11. When you open an application the first time you may be prompted for Citrix Client Security. Select:  Full Access and Never ask me again.

The available options are:

No Access (default)
You will not be able to access your local hard drive(s).
 
Read Access
You will only be able to read files on your local hard drive(s); you will not
be able to save files to your local hard drive(s).
 
Full Access (recommended)
You can read and write to your local hard drive(s).
 
Always ask me (default)
You will be prompted every time you connect to Citrix.
 
Never ask me again for this site
Your selection will be saved and you will not be prompted again for this Citrix farm.
 
Never ask me again (recommended)
Your selection will be saved and you will not be prompted again for any Citrix farm.

To ensure full functionality within Citrix, it is recommended that you select the Full Access and Never ask me again options.
