Citrix Client Configuration


Installation Steps:

  1. Browser Settings
  2. Connect to Citrix Application Website
  3. Download Citrix Client
  1. Client Installation
  2. Launch Application
  3. Select Client File Security

To the right of each step you will see a thumbnail. To make the image larger, simply move your mouse over the image. To display with the images expanded, click here.

1. Browser Settings
For the install and the application to run properly it is required that you change two settings in your browser.

- Add the site https://macapps.mcmaster.ca to your Trusted Sites, if applicable.
- Turn-Off Pop-Up Blocker for this site.

Connect To Citrix 2. Connect to Citrix Application Website
Open Browser and navigate to https://macapps.mcmaster.ca
- Enter MAC ID and password.

Download Client 
            Software 3. Download Client Software
Select the Check Box and Click Download
Select the Check 
            Box

Security Check Box 4. Client Installation
Once the Client has downloaded you must execute the file to start the install.  Each browser handles this a little differently, but you will likely have to select Run or Double Click the file to start the install.
Once the install begins, you should see the Installation Progress status.

Then you will see confirmation that the install completed.

And you will be presented with the Web Interface Application page as seen below.

Select Application 5. Launch Application
Select the Application that you wish to run.

Client Security 6. Select Client File Security
If prompted for Client File Security, Select Full Access and Never ask me again. The available options are:

No Access (default)
You will not be able to access your local hard drive(s).
 
Read Access
You will only be able to read files on your local hard drive(s); you will not be able to save files to your local hard drive(s).
  
Full Access (recommended)
You can read and write to your local hard drive(s).
 
Always ask me (default)
You will be prompted every time you connect to Citrix.
 
Never ask me again for this site
Your selection will be saved and you will not be prompted again for this Citrix farm.
 
Never ask me again (recommended)
Your selection will be saved and you will not be prompted again for any Citrix farm.

To ensure full functionality within Citrix, it is recommended that you select the Full Access and Never ask me again options.
