UTS Administrative staff provide efficient and effective support to keep the unit in a working order. They are an essential part of the UTS team.

The Technology Service Desk provides telephone, email and walk-in support service to the McMaster community consisting primarily of basic technical assistance and problem resolution for a specific list of supported computer products and services. Advanced questions and problems are escalated to the appropriate contact.

The Application Services section of University Technology Services offers computing and information services to customers who are the sponsors of administrative systems throughout the University. While the information products of these systems may reach virtually any category of person related to the University in some way, including students and external agencies, the customers of Application Services are typically University employees and departments acting as agents for the design of these information products. It is through the priorities of, and across these agents that the work of this department is related to the University's strategic plan.

Production Control is responsible for co-ordinating administrative departments' computer schedules and ensuring that requests are processed to meet production deadlines. This includes the backing up of all production databases and keeping requirements of the job scheduling up to date to ensure data integrity. Production Control is also responsible for production and systems security.

Enterprise Networks' goal is to provide an accessible, secure, and robust University network so reliable that it 'seems invisible'; we want the community to trust that their network will work all the time. Our mandate is the provision of client service and support for voice and data communications.
