Increased Activity of "Big Yellow" or "W32.Sagevo" Worm

Summary: Symantec reports that vulnerabilities in Symantec Client Security and Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition could allow attackers to infect computers. Big Yellow has infected a number of computers on campus that are not properly patched. Once a computer is compromised other worms may infect it.
How to protect against the vulnerability: It is important for you to note that patches for this vulnerability are NOT available through Symantec LiveUpdate. Symantec maintains patches for this vulnerability on its website http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/docid/2006052609181248 . You must follow instructions specific to your version of Symantec software. To find your version: start Symantec AntiVirus, the version should be displayed in the right pane - under program versions.
