Working with Files
Working with files in the Student Computer Labs is a little different than working at home because you cannot permanently store files on the hard drive. You can, however, use the hard drive (specifically the C:\Temp area) to work on your documents while you are logged onto a machine.
UTS recommends that a portable USB flash "drive" (also known as "key" or "stick") be used for storage of files.
As always, you are encouraged to make backup copies of your work. A general rule of thumb is that if your work is very important and/or would require a lot of time and effort to redo, you should make frequent backup copies. This applies regardless of the media type you use to store your work.
