If you purchased a laptop within February 2005 and September 2006, you are advised to visit the Lenevo Battery recall program to determine if your battery requires replacement. This also applies to any additional battery purchases you made within this period.

• ThinkPad R50, R50e, R50p, R51
• ThinkPad T40, T40p, T41, T41p, T42, T42p

Step 1
To determine your laptop model, shutdown your laptop and look in the following places:

• Turn it over to look for the model and make on the bottom.
• Look on the laptop cover for the brand or make
• Open the laptop look around the keypad and the monitor for the make and model.

If your laptop or battery accessory is not in the above list, your equipment is not on the recall list.

Step 2
Place your laptop rightside up on a flat surface and turn it on.

Open a browser and go to Lenovo Battery Recall site to determine if your laptop or additional battery accessory is on the recall list.

Option 1
Use Lenovo's Automated solution .

Option 2
Read through Lenovo's information and enter battery barcode number in the Battery bar code validation box.

Step 3
If your laptop or battery accessory is not on the recall list, you are not affected.

If your battery is recalled, follow the instructions given by Lenovo to receive a replacement.
