Mail Setup for iPhone

  1. Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account…

  2. Tap Other then Add Mail Account.

  3. Enter your details and then tap next.

  4. Ensure IMAP is chosen at the top of the screen and then enter the rest of your information.

    Incoming Server:
    Server Name: univmail.cis.mcmaster.ca
    Username: MacID
    Password: MacIDpassword

    Outgoing Server:
    Server Name: univmail.cis.mcmaster.ca
    Username: MacID
    Password: MacIDpassword

  5. After entering all your information, hit Next in the top right of the screen.

  6. You should see checkmarks appear next to all the entered info and the screen should advance. If you receive an error that the settings could not be verified, check that you have entered the proper setup information.

  7. Once the settings are correct, you should see the following screen. Tap Save in the top right of the screen.

  8. Press your home button and then tap the Mail app. Check that your new account is listed and messages are coming in. Once messages are coming in, return to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

  9. Tap on your newly created account name then tap on the account name in the account field. Scroll to the bottom and tap Advanced.

  10. Here you can set your Drafts, Sent and Deleted locations. Set these to folder on the server, not on the iPhone.

Your email is now fully set up!
