CIO Site RSS Feed
Depending on who you ask, the acronym RSS stands for different things: Rich Site Summary, RDF Site Summary, Really Simple Syndication. Basically they all mean the same thing - a summary of frequently updated pages on a web site.
Each entry in an RSS feed contains a heading, brief description of the page, publication date and a link to the page. By subscribing to an RSS you can see if a page has changed at a glance and easily click on the page link for more details. The items listed in the CIO RSS are updated hourly and based on the last modified date* of the file.
To take advantage of an RSS feed you first need to have an RSS feed reader also known as a news aggregator. There are many different types of aggregators available: Web based, Plugins, Desktop or Mobile Device. Search the web to find which one is best for you. News aggregators will need to be directed to the URL http://www.mcmaster.ca/uts/staff/johnkearney/cio.rss in order to use the RSS feeds.
