DELL Contract

The recently signed contract between McMaster University and DELL Canada Inc. demonstrates our commitment to enhancing efficient service delivery and moving towards a greater level of technology standardization.

The McMaster community is now able to purchase DELL desktops, laptops and monitors online at a discounted rate. While UTS have published recommended models for end users' consideration to ensure greater interoperability and reliability, the flexibility to customize your order is available.

Warranty and Enhanced Services have also been carefully negotiated by Purchasing Resources in consultation with UTS.


Warranty Services:

  • Guaranteed delivery within 10 business days
  • 4-year onsite labour and parts warranty (M-F 8:00-5:00)
  • Service call acknowledgement within 15 minutes
  • Arrival onsite within 4 hours of the acknowledgement
  • Availability of parts for the life of the warranty
  • No lemon policy
    • 30 day on-site complete replacement guarantee
    • Entire computer replaced should the computer require fourth hardware repair any time during the warranty period

Enhanced Services (subject to $35/unit):

  • Imaging of devices prior to delivery
  • Ability to request a loaner computer for image management
  • Faulty unit may be replaced should the repair be incomplete within 1 hour of the onsite arrival time
  • End of life device removal
    • Low level format
    • Ability to perform high level format as per Department of Defense specification 522.22M
    • Device removal from premises
    • Storage of such devices for up to 60 days at vendor's location
