General Information
Location
UTS manages several computer labs located in 3 different buildings on campus:
- Burke Science Building (BSB) Rooms 241, 242, 244 ,249
- John Hodgins Engineering Building (JHE) Rooms 233, 234
- Kenneth Taylor Hall Building (KTH) Rooms B121, B123
The computer labs are available to all undergraduate students during the hours of operation. Specific lab rooms may be unavailable during course bookings.
Hours

Applications
Several applications are available in the UTS computer labs. Applications are conveniently separated into General Campus Applications and Faculty/Department specific applications.

There is no cost for undergraduate students to use computer labs.

Lab Bookings
Academic Bookings
UTS computer labs are primarily available for undergraduate classes.
All full time undergraduate classes that require computer lab space must be booked through Registrar's Office.
All sporadic (one or several booking per term) academic bookings are done through the McMaster Room Booking System (MRBS). To book with MRBS please contact stsadmin@mcmaster.ca. Bookings and available timeslots can be viewed at http://mrbs.mcmaster.ca.
Non-academic Bookings
The UTS computer labs are also available for non-academic bookings throughout the year for things such as conferences, seminars or workshops. Any booking that is not listed in the McMaster course calendar is considered a "non-academic booking". These are considered paid bookings and must be booked through UTS. Please check the Cost and Service Level Agreement tabs for more information.

Lab Software Requests
UTS labs provide access to a number of standard and faculty/course specific software applications. A request to install a specific software application can be made by following the procedure listed here: http://www.mcmaster.ca/uts/instructors/software.html
Please check Service Level and Cost sections for additional information on turnaround time and associated cost.
Academic usage of the lab:The requester is responsible for cost of any faculty/course specific software applications and their licensing.
Non-academic usage of the lab:The installation and configuration of any software is subject to UTS hourly charge http://www.mcmaster.ca/uts/currentrates.html
A minimum of 15 business days is required to do the installation. Requested software must be tested by the requestor at least 5 business days before class/course commencement..
