OMR Course Evaluation System
Enhancements
The process of replacing the hardware and software that is used to scan course evaluation sheets has made
it possible to look for ways to enhance the service for customers. The following enhancements have
been incorporated into the system:
- Security
- authenticated, as well as authorized, providing security with greater accessibility
- Creating Job Requests
- entering new OMR course evaluation data for more than one course at a time
- deleting unprocessed Course Evaluation data (job requests)
- provision for entering data for cross-listed courses, both across departments and across faculties
- Questionnaires and Reports
- client control of the content of questionnaire files and, with limitations, content of reports generated
- creating more than one report based on the same questionnaire
- specifying other email IDs to send the reports to, e.g. the instructor
- reports and data files delivered by email as soon as the job is done
- formatted, printer-independent report layout
- Course Evaluation Data Available to Students through MUGSI
- preformatted "overall" question
- specifying instructor's permission to upload data to MUGSI when evaluation job is requested - second step NOT required (although available to those needing it)
- data from "overall" question uploaded to MUGSI sooner, more frequently, and automatically
Some features have been included in the upgraded system to smooth the transition from the old system:
- data files from previous system created - .con, .dat, .dlk (but not .txt)
- same question types in questionnaires
- response threshold and significant response threshold in questionnaires
