Encrypted WPA Wireless - Android Setup

These instructions apply to Android (4.x or later) powered devices only. Use these instructions to connect your Android device to the McMaster Mac-WiFi/Reznet-WiFi/eduroam wireless networks. Mac-WiFi/Reznet-WiFi/eduroam uses Wireless Protected Access (or WPA2 for short) and provides encryption between your Android device and the Wireless Access Point that you connect to.

  • Requirements:
    • Android 4.X or later (Ice Cream Sandwich or later)
    • Wi-Fi

Android Setup:

  1. From the Home screen, tap Apps and click on Settings.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the list and select Add Wi-Fi network.
  4. Under Network SSID, enter Name as Mac-WiFi exactly as shown (it's case sensitive). Under Security, select 802.1x EAP. Scrolld down & leave all the other fields.
  5. Enter your MACID for Identity and Password. Finally click the Connect button.
  6. You are now connected to the WPA-enabled McMaster Wireless network on your Android device.
