MAC ID
MAC ID is a unique, common identifier enabling single sign-on for a number of McMaster systems and applications. Your MAC ID is not your employee or student number.
Note:Password Change
On February 19, 2013 McMaster upgraded the requirements for MAC ID passwords. Use the online password change tool to change your password to the new, more secure standard.
Getting Started
Request a MAC ID
- Current staff members can use the request a MAC ID form to request an account for another employee or to request a generic account.
Activate Your MAC ID
- Students: activate your MAC ID using your student number, student card barcode and birth date
- Faculty and staff: MAC ID and email account activation tool

- Forgot your MAC ID - For students only
- Forgotten MAC ID password - Use your personal challenge questions to reset your MAC ID password

Upgrade your MAC ID password today
McMaster is strengthening its password system and all MAC ID passwords established before February 19, 2013 must be changed.
