Software Request Procedures

Software installation requests for the UTS Student Computer Labs should be directed to the UTS Service Desk: http://www.mcmaster.ca/uts/instructors/contact.html.

Send an email message to uts@mcmaster.ca and specify that you have new Windows software to be installed. Arrange for the software and proof of appropriate licensing to be made available to the UTS Service Desk in BSB 245. Under no circumstances will software be installed without providing appropriate licensing.

Here is a list of items that should be filled out before dropping off your software to be installed.

  1. Software Title
  2. Software Installation Location
  3. Has the lab been requested for the course with the Registrar's office?
  4. Instructor's / Requestor's Email
  5. Software licensing information (i.e. Is there a license file? Is license server access is required? How many seats is the software licensed for?)
  6. Course Start Date

A minimum of 15 business days is required to preform a software installation. Requested software must be tested by the requester at least 5 business days before class/course commencement.
